LAPTOP POWER CORD

A laptop power cord (or power cable) is the cord that connects your laptop’s AC adapter (the brick or box) to the wall outlet or power source.

It’s important to understand the two main components involved in charging a laptop:

The AC Adapter (or Power Supply/Charger): This is the large brick that converts the alternating current (AC) from your wall socket into the direct current (DC) that your laptop’s battery needs.

The Power Cord (or Cable): This cord connects the AC adapter to the electrical outlet.

Power Cord Types
The most common type of connector used on the AC adapter end of the power cord is the IEC C5 connector, often nicknamed a “cloverleaf” or “Mickey Mouse” connector . Other less common types you might encounter are the IEC C7 (“figure-8” or “shotgun” connector) or a standard straight three-prong (IEC C13).
